ACTIVITIES NEAR THE RANCH
Over the past decade Paso Robles has positioned itself as one of the premier wine regions in the world. Known for its remarkable wine, picturesque setting, and recreation opportunities, Paso Robles has become a destination for many.
As an owner operated vacation rental, Paso Canyon Ranch has put together a list of things to do in the county.
San Luis Obispo County has great parks, beaches, outdoor recreation, family farms, shopping, dining, and farmer's markets.
Windrose Farms, one of the best organic farms on the central coast, is located within walking distance of the ranch. The Spencers have dedicated their lives to producing the highest quality organic vegetables that can be found. Their produce is second to none and the farm is open to the public Thursday - Sunday. More information can be found at their website.
The Village of Creston, although quaint, has two places of interest.
The Creston Country Store is a small general store, perfect if you forget the milk and do not want to drive back into town. Located about five minutes from the rental the Creston Country Store provides the necessities.
Also in the village of Creston, The Loading Chute is an American Style steak house that is open for lunch and dinner. The Loading Chute provides a great place to dine with family and friends. The Loading Chute also serves hand made pizzas that are delicious.
Paso Canyon Ranch is located among Paso Robles east-side wineries. Wineries located nearby include.

Most of the hiking in the county can be found in the coastal areas about 20 - 40 minute drive from the Ranch depending on the location. Our favorite hikes are in the Cerro Alto campground area and the Montana de Oro state park.
The Cerro Alto campground is located on highway 41 towards Morro Bay located about 20 miles from the rental. The entrance to the park will be on the left hand side when heading towards Morro Bay.
Arguably one of San Luis Obispo’s best hikes at 1600 vertical feet and a round trip of almost 6 miles Cerro Alto is a must do for the avid hiker. Be prepared for a moderately intense hike that will take you to an elevation of 2600 feet. Once at the summit you will have 360 degree views of San Luis Obispo County. $5.00 Parking fee.

Montana de Oro is located outside the community of Los Osos about 30 miles from the rental. Numerous hikes, breathtaking views, and sea cliffs can be enjoyed here.
